New apartment procedures progressing smoothly!

Woke up a bit early (for weekend standards) today at 9:00am and went to the supermarket to stock up on some groceries. I thought it would be less busy if I went earlier (on Sundays you get 5x the usual points so that’s why everyone goes) since I usually go around 10 or 11 if I go on Sundays, but if anything it was even busier. Got a lot of food, went home, ate some salad, and then drove out to see the real estate agent to hand in my application form. She was out on her lunch break when I arrived so I waited a bit. The whole process is actually pretty easy as soon as you’re able to find a guarantor. Luckily my dad has a close friend in Tokyo, and I was able to get her to be both my emergency contact and guarantor! I handed in the application form, and now I just have to wait for the guarantor company (Nippon Safety) to check my guarantor, the real estate agency to get everything sorted with the apartment building owner, and then the real estate agency will contact me with the contract. Then I’ll check the contract, pay (which I will also need the 住民票 for), and then it’ll be all done! If all goes well, I will have the keys to the new apartment on August 1st, and then move out of the current place on August 3rd. I chose to start the rent at the new place a few days earlier so that it’ll be at the beginning of the month (cause even if you start later, you still have to pay the rent for the whole month anyway), and also for ease of moving all my stuff over (so that I don’t have to move absolutely everything on the 3rd).
After I finished at the real estate agency, I popped over to the shopping mall to get some summer pyjamas, and then drove over to Tomioka to have lunch with an ALT friend at this café that his school’s teachers recommended. It specialises in omurice and pancakes, so we ambitiously set out to try both today. They only do omurice from 11:00~14:00, and then pancakes from 14:30 till evening. I got there at 13:45 and we ordered omurice first. It was so delicious!!!! I got the vegetables and tomato omurice, and my friend got the hamburger one that comes in demi-glaze sauce. The omurice was seriously so good, I definitely want to go back and try all the different omurice options available. Once we finished lunch and it was 14:30, we ordered the pancakes. I got choco banana and my friend got the mango. The pancakes were really good too (definitely much better than Gram’s!) but the omurice was the clear standout for me. After lunch I went to Cainz, and then Nitori, to take down furniture prices in preparation for the new apartment, then went home.
