Woke up at 7:15am, had cereal for breakfast, and set off for school. A very free day today, since 6-2’s lesson got cancelled, so I only have the two 3rd grade classes to teach today in period 3 and 4. Spent the morning doing lesson prep, burnt the DVD for tomorrow’s English broadcast, and read (currently reading Mortal Engines because I got curious from seeing the movie trailer). 3-1 in period 3, and it was an alright lesson. Not too bad because the kids were still practicing speaking a lot of English (Do you have a pencil? Yes I do! No I don’t!) but it was just a bit noisy. Can’t really be helped when we’re playing group games though, so oh well. 3-2 was a bit less noisy so that was good! Their teacher keeps a tighter reign on them I reckon. 3-2 also has more kids that are pretty good at English, so they’re able to grasp the game rules fairly quickly and explain the rules to the other kids.
Lunch today with 4-2 again, they’re such a fun class to eat with. Today’s lunch was cream stew (chicken, carrot, mushrooms), bread, and sausage and cabbage soup! 4-2 was a bit slow today as well with lunch prep, but not as bad as yesterday. Less conversation today, as the kids were talking amongst themselves more. I got lots of bread though, because a lot of kids didn’t want theirs and gave it up. My JTE was away on a business trip so 6-2’s lesson was cancelled, so I had the afternoon free. Got off work at 16:00 and went home. Tomorrow is the JET Summer Conference, so it felt like it was Friday today almost (if I’m being really honest, conferences and office days don’t feel like work, and more just a day off school instead!).
