Golden Week: Relaxing

Thursday 3rd May

Slept in till 9:30am today, and then woke up and had some udon for breakfast before cycling downtown to some clothes shopping. I was hoping there’d be some Golden Week sales, cause I needed some summer clothes for the upcoming hot weather. First I went to one of my favourite clothing stores in Takasaki OPA, and bought a few things there, and then went to the stores in the station and bought a few things from Honeys. After that I cycled home, but stopped on the way for lunch at Café Noir, one of my favourite cafes. Got the rice gratin again and tried the banana latte this time. Spent some time relaxing there reading and drawing. Then I went home and did a big round of laundry, washing all the new clothes I bought!

Friday 4th May

Another super relaxing day today. Woke up late and stayed at home the whole day editing photos and studying Japanese.

Saturday 5th May

Another super relaxing day, but I went out to Aeon to do some more clothes shopping, and caught up with another ALT friend over dinner. Woke up late again at 10:00am, did some Japanese study, then headed over to Aeon mall at about 16:00. Fueled up a bit first on the way. Bought some more clothes, and also some interior stuff (needed some boxes to store my winter clothes in!), and then headed to dinner. The place was really cute, designed with a lot of tropical island vibes. The dinner deal was pretty sweet too – only ¥1480 for a main (I got the roast beef don, my friend got the fried chicken one), dessert (I got the banana chocolate and nuts crepe, my friend got the cream puff), and then you access to the salad bar (which they serve in cute mason jars), soup bar (they had tom yum goong!!!!) and drink bar (weirdest selection I’ve ever seen of lemon water, tea, and coffee haha). Spent a long time there catching up, and then got home around 21:30.
