GOING TO WATCH AVENGERS INFINITY WAR TONIGHT WOO! We saved it for the 1st of May today because tickets at 109 cinemas are cheaper on the 1st of every month. Woke up at 7:15am, had rice for breakfast, and set off for school. It’s so hot already and it’s not even summer! Today’s high is already at 30 degrees… Anyway, first up today was 4-1 in period 1, and we did the last lesson of the restaurant unit. It was pretty good, although we were running right up until the last minute with the restaurant activity! 4-2 was also good today, the lessons with 4th grade are just very steady and stable this year. 4-3 was super duper great today, and finished all the planned activities on time, so we had time to watch the video at the end. It was just a video from the textbook CD showing marketplaces from different countries around the world. The main differences the kids spotted were how Japan’s marketplaces are usually indoors (not outdoors), and not on boats (like Thailand). 4-3 is just too perfect a class so far, very quiet when doing worksheets (like making today’s menu) but doing the speaking activities properly (like today’s waiter and customer role play) and are very fast to quiet down in order to listen to instructions, everything! I guess their new homeroom teacher has a big part to play in their good behavior. He honestly doesn't have to discipline them at all during class though, cause they’re just that good.
Ate lunch in the staffroom today since Golden Week means there’s only school on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Lunch today was delicious – the smell of pasta sauce was already wafting throughout the school from period 3! We had pasta with tomato garlic sauce, cheese bread (that was extra extra soft and fluffy!), soup, and orange slices. Cleaning time was super fun again today. 6-1 in period 5 and it was actually a really good lesson despite it being super hot in the afternoon. Everyone still greeted me back nice and loud, and they did the textbook activities properly too. A lot of the kids were a bit slow on the worksheets (unscrambling jumbled up words to practice writing) but they were still trying. A few of the kids were super fast and whizzed through the worksheet, I was so proud of them. We mistakenly went 10 minutes overtime because the special schedule that was hanging in the class had the wrong times on it (13:35~14:20 when it should’ve been 13:25~14:10), woops sorry kids! Spent the rest of the afternoon planning lessons and doing prep. Got off work at 16:00 and stopped by Lawson to pick up snacks for tonight’s movie! Went home and did some kanji study before heading to the cinemas at 18:00. The movie was so good! The hype is reaaaaal. If I’m being a bit pickier I would say that the story/writing was a bit weak, but the acting and the pace of the movie really pulled it through.
