This year's Golden Week is a bit funny because the public holidays didn't all line up in a row, so it's a 3 day weekend (Monday off) followed by work on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then a 4 day weekend (Thursday and Friday off). Had a lovely sleep in till 10:00am and then woke up and did some Japanese study. Headed out at 13:00 for lunch at a café I found in Fujioka. It was a very stylish Japanese café, serving Japanese food (I got the salmon and onigiri lunch set, which comes with dessert and coffee) and also famous for shaved ice! Stayed there for a while enjoying the aircon haha, then set off to see some more wisteria flowers at a place which they call the Wisteria Hill in Fujioka. The best thing is it’s free entry since it’s just a public park! There were lots of lovely wisteria tunnels – took some photos and then went home and relaxed, edited photos, and did some more Japanese study. An ALT friend then messaged me asking whether I was keen to go to Kamikōchi tonight in Nagano prefecture! Ended up going on a super spontaneous trip, with a midnight departure. Showered, packed, and took a little nap while waiting for the midnight pickup.
