Tuesday - Office Day

Had a lovely little sleep in till 8:00am since I had an office day today. Had rice for breakfast, and the yoghurt drink our team won from last night’s party games, and then set off for the health centre where today’s office day was. Nothing much to report about the office day, except at one point one of the BOE teachers scolded an ALT pretty badly for not being respectful and not taking today’s handouts properly and stuff. I heard from another ALT though that it wasn’t just because of the handouts, but more because that specific ALT had been acting up a lot lately. Anyway, today’s office day was mainly explaining about the new textbook and teaching materials, but it was a bit all over the place so I didn't get much out of it. After the office day ended we walked to have lunch at a nearby Mexican food place, and enjoyed the sakura by the city hall on the way. The Mexican place turned out to be full (!) so we went instead for lunch at this local soba/udon place, and it was very nice and so cheap! I had the cold udon noodles, and their udon was very delicious. The owner was also very lovely and greeted us so warmly. It was just like in the dramas where the place was filled with nearby office workers on their lunch break. Headed back to school and arrived around 13:15. Practically all the teachers were at work today. I reported today’s office day info to my JTE (copying the new digital teaching materials really does take 4 hours!) and continued sorting and cleaning the English teaching materials corner. Got off work at 16:00 and drove home.
