Last Snowboarding Run of this Season

Snowboarding day today! I had always wanted to go on a weekday to see the difference between crowds. Woke up at 6:30am, got everything ready, and set off. The nice thing about going snowboarding alone is that it’s so easy to get there on time, cause you don’t have to pick anyone up, don’t have to wait for anyone doing rentals, and so on. Got there before opening time (8:30am) at 8:15am, so I was practically on the slopes by opening time! There were definitely way less people than usual, though that’s also probably cause its spring. I imagine on weekdays in winter during peak there’ll still be a lot of people. Still, it was really nice to have practically no one around, plus Kagura is such a big ski resort so that the numbers of people were spread out even further. Having said that, the snow really wasn’t great at all. Icy at the top and slushy on the bottom. One of the steeper intermediate runs just wouldn't budge from its icy conditions throughout the whole day (normally you’d expect ice to turn into slush as the sun and people riding over it does its work) so yea, not the greatest. I had lunch early around 11:30, and then did a few more runs till around 14:00, and then decided to call it a day, and the last for this season probably – spring snow is just a little too slushy for my liking! Drove back to Takasaki and decided to go onsen before going home. It was quite funny because I’d never actually been to this onsen in the daytime, and today they were doing “premium Friday!” so it was cheaper than normal yay!
