Tuesday

Woke up at 7:15am, had rice for breakfast, threw out the trash, and drove to school. I had a completely empty day today because my JTE was away, and Tuesdays are 5th and 6th grade classes with her normally. So I managed to spend the whole day printing and making the thank you cards for Grade 4’s lesson on Thursday. Managed to stretch it out by cutting everything by hand instead of using the machines haha. Lunch today was super delicious – cornflakes coated chicken, minestrone soup, “Popeye” salad (haha) and a croissant! Lunch was really fun as well today, since I was sitting with 2 girls in 6-2 and it was just non stop conversation. They told me about their English cram school class today and how they were looking forward to it, because it’s the last one and they’ll just be playing games. Apparently they’re going to make Easter Eggs and play Game of Life! We also talked about differences between Japan and other countries – how we don’t have the culture of wearing masks (they were like “EEEH!?” to that haha – couldn't believe that people go around without masks when they have a cold or if they have hayfever), how in Japan kids can travel solo to school and parents don’t really have to worry, and how we have birthday parties overseas but they don’t do those in Japan – at least not with friends, but just a family dinner/small party. Talking to them today like this though just makes me miss them more even though they still haven’t even graduated yet! Cleaning time was a little wilder today than yesterday, but they still got the job done and didn’t get too out of hand. Had the meeting with the Grade 2 teachers for tomorrow’s lesson (the 2nd graders’ last English class for the year!) and then got off work at 16:15. Since this Friday will be the last English broadcast for this school year, I decided to make a video montage of this year’s English lessons, though it’s mostly just footage from all the plays and presentations.
