Tokyo weekend! Woke up at 7:00am and set off for the station at 7:45am to catch the 8:23am train. Arrived at Omotesando station at 10:39 and went straight to Aoyama Flower Market Teahouse to eat lunch! It was good we arrived super early – we ended up being 2nd in the queue, so when the teahouse opened at 11:00, we were able to get a seat straightaway. They had new items on their menu that they didn’t have last time I was there! I got the chocolate French toast and my mum got the winter lunch set (pumpkin and chicken gratin, bread, salad) and we also got the parfait to share. The teahouse was super busy as usual and there was a long line already after us. We both really enjoyed the lunch, took a lot of photos, and then left and walked to Shinjuku-gyoen which wasn’t actually that far – only about a 40 minute walk. The weather was super lovely so the walk was really nice. The area of Omotesando was also fancy as and there were a lot of hip cafes around to see. There was one with a really pretty herbal “fairy milk tea” that I would love to come back and try!

Shinjuku-gyoen had a ¥200 entry fee, but it was a massive garden with several different parks so it was very worth it. We spent at least 2 hours there, just walking around and enjoying the park’s atmosphere and autumn leaves. Took a lot of photos, and there were a lot of families and couples there enjoying the day out as well. After we finished seeing the whole park, we walked over to the shopping area in Shinjuku. Had a late lunch/afternoon tea first at a really nice Vietnamese place (Vietnamese food!!!) that had a great lunch set – selection of spring rolls, your choice of a main (I had pho of course) and Vietnamese coffee to finish (which was really nice and sweet – usually I can’t drink coffee but this one was nice as!). Did a little bit of shopping before we got tired and decided to head to the motel.
