Woke up at 7:00am, rice for breakfast, and then drove to school since I have a health check thing to go to at 15:00 today. Only had 4 classes today because of the afternoon health check. First up was 6-2 and it was another fun class. We started with bingo again and got them to say the phrases. Then guessed a few more kids’ schedules, and then did conversation practice. A lot of them were cheating though and just saying out the times in Japanese to their partners, instead of doing it properly in English. I must remember to enforce the “only English, no Japanese” rule next time. 6-1 was a bit restless today, which my JTE guessed was because their school trip is happening soon so they were all probably just too excited to focus. Managed to get through all the activities but it was still not such a good lesson compared to other ones.

Checked the English board at the 20 minute break and a lot more leaves had been handed in, so I stuck those up! Class with 5-2 in period 3 and we had a more relaxed class today just playing games for the whole lesson. First we did a card exchange game to make them practice speaking more, and then used that game to make bingo cards (they would draw the object of the card they received). Then we played another round of the castle game. Had class with 6-1 again in period 4 and it was a bit better than period 2, they focused a bit more, but that was probably because their homeroom teacher came in halfway through the lesson to do some stuff at the back, so they all became super focused as soon as he stepped in.

Had lunch with 4-2 again and it seems to have become a bit of a ritual now for the 2 kids who like Attack on Titan to come up to me to talk about it. We had spaghetti with meat sauce today for lunch which was super delicious, with a cheese bun and vegetable soup. Spent the lunchtime working on the name tags before leaving for the health examination thing at 14:30. Drove to the health centre (it was the same place as where we had the English Summer School during the summer holidays) and there were a lot of other ALTs waiting. It turned out to be a lung/chest screening/x-ray, so it only took like one minute. I went straight home afterwards because I was working on drawing an English version of 大きなかぶ (The Big Turnip) for the 1st graders.
