Cosmos Sunday!

More cosmos flower hunting today! Woke up at 10:30, got dressed and ready, and went out to fuel up a bit before picking up another ALT friend. We then went to Takasaki Station to pick up another ALT friend, and decided to go to a yakiniku place for lunch! Trying to find parking was a bit of a hassle, as the yakiniku place literally only had 7 parking spots to its name…and all 7 were taken. So we parked at Takasaki Arena nearby (and had to pay ¥770 for 2 hours of parking…) and had lunch at the yakiniku place! I had found it on Tabelog as it had ¥1500 lunch specials, and despite the meat being good and all (we all got the 焼肉丼 which was kalbi meat) it was a bit on the small side, and turns out it was ¥1620 after tax, so it wasn't as worth it as I thought it was.

After that another ALT came to meet us to go see the cosmos flowers. We first drove to the milk farm where they also have a shop selling gelato, yoghurt, and ice cream! It’s called タンポポ and is quite famous (one of the teachers at my school told me about it!) and indeed there was a looooong line out the door! We all ended up getting the gelato, and I chose milk flavor and chocolate chip! It was really good!!! So milky, creamy, and fresh so I can totally see why it gets the good reputation that it has. I wish I could have bought some gelato to take home with me (they sell small tubs of it) but it wouldn't have lasted. The cosmos flower field was just next to the farm/gelato store, and there weren’t only cosmos flowers but a little bit of sunflowers remaining, and also marigold flowers! There were a lot more yellow cosmos flowers here – they had an actual maze you could walk in which was fun. We stayed here for quite a while, just enjoying the cooler temperature, nature, and sunset – although a lot of clouds appeared and the sun disappeared behind it so there wasn't really a sunset to watch! After that we called it a day and I dropped them all off back at the station, before going home and having dinner.
