Last Day of the Long Weekend

Last day of the long weekend. I had some things to do back in Takasaki so I didn't spend the whole day in Tokyo. We woke up later at 9:00am today, and I had the cakes I bought yesterday for breakfast! They were all super good – the caramel chiffon cake was so light and fluffy, the leaf pie extra crisp and flaky, and the chocolate fig cake that my friend recommended was the best! I hope to find a local bakery near my house that’s as good as this. We originally planned to go to Odaiba and go to the onsen there, and then the shopping mall, but we woke up to gorgeous weather today so we reverted back to our original original plan of going to Shinjuku-gyoen. Headed out at 10:00am to Shinjuku, where we then decided to go into the shopping mall to buy matching earrings, or a matching strawhat (because it was super sunny and hot!). We found the perfect pair of earrings for the both of us but not the strawhat – the clothing stores have all already changed their line to autumn clothing! I managed to buy the sunglasses that I spotted last time that I really wanted, so that was good. We then decided to have lunch early cause we got hungry, so we went back to the 定食 place we went to last time. My friend still had the drink voucher we got from them last time, and it was so nice because even though it’s one voucher, it’s for 2 people! So we both got free drinks yay. After lunch we walked a bit more in the shopping mall and decided not to go to Shinjuku-gyoen – it was seriously hot and sunny and I guess we were both feeling a bit tired from the heat.

I left Tokyo at around 14:00 and got back at around 16:00. Got my 車検証 from my car and finally sorted out my car parking space at Leopalace. Paid for it and everything, finally all finished! After that I went to Uniqlo to get some sports shorts because another ALT is going to introduce me to a badminton group/club tomorrow! Also went to Muji to get the aroma diffuser thing that my friend used in her house, which I found really nice and relaxing, so I got one too! Also got some sink/pipe cleaning tablets, because my kitchen sink isn’t smelling too good – I think the previous person didn't bother to catch the food scraps so the pipe is probably real dirty and that’s causing the smell.

Went home, unpacked everything, cleaned up my sink real nice with the tablets (no more smell!!!) and got ready for school tomorrow.
