Woke up before my alarm rang at 7:00am, and then woke up properly to another missile alarm. It didn't take long for the next message to come up at 7:07 saying that the missile had passed and fallen into the ocean again. Bread for breakfast, threw out my rubbish, and then drove to school.

Another relaxed day of only 3 lessons today. First was the 6th graders in 2nd period. First class was a bit noisy and slow so we didn't get to do all the activities planned, but the second class was good as gold! We praised them for this (they really deserved it) and they were pretty funny replying back “We’re good aye. We’re perfect!”. Because they were so well behaved, a lot of them got stickers on their sticker chart, and we managed to get through all the activities! They learnt the grammar pretty well too. They were also seriously quiet during prep time when they cut their country cards out of their textbooks. The silence was almost weird because they’re normally noisy!

Also had my last 2nd grade class for this week, and this class is the best out of their grade. I think this is because their teacher is also really into English, so it reflects back onto the students. They participated well, learnt well, but when it came to their reflection card time, a lot of them admitted they still couldn't differentiate “left” and “right”. It was so cute – love their honesty. One kid also cried a bit in Simon Says because he got it wrong, but it just goes to show how hard he tried! It was honestly adorable.

English Broadcast today so I didn't eat lunch with the kids, but with the teachers. Today’s broadcast was on similar sounding alphabet letters, because we’d been doing that with the 5th grade. The 6th graders that were on broadcast duty got confused between “D” and “P” too! Lunch today was interesting – chestnut in rice, a combination I have never had before! A deep fried tofu mixed with thinly sliced vegetables (this was literally what my dictionary said when I searched it’s name “がんもどき) it was really delicious though! And a soup with a lot of vegetables in it. It was probably just because I was really hungry today, but the rice tasted super good today – it was extra chewy like mochi! During the lunch break I went back to the class I’d been eating lunch with, and they all asked me why I didn't come today. Drew some minions for the girls, and received a letter from one of them! It was very very cute. During cleaning time today my JTE was very nice and told me to look after one corridor which some 2nd graders were cleaning. I still don't think I was very helpful though, because all the 2nd graders did was tell me they’d finished cleaning and proceeded to play and run around. I’m sorry my JTE!

Spent the last 2 periods doing lesson prep for next week, and when school finished and the kids had gone home, I put up my new English Board and hid the puzzle pieces and emojis around the school. Also got a phone call from my supervisor (it was so weird hearing my name be called out for the phone call!) about my car park contract, ready for pickup, so I went after school to fiiiiinally sort it all out! But alas I stupidly forgot to bring my 車検証 with me so I still have to go back next Tuesday to finally pay and truly settle it all. Drove back home after, had dinner, did laundry, and packed for tomorrow’s 3 day weekend in Tokyo!Woke up before my alarm rang at 7:00am, and then woke up properly to another missile alarm.
