Roukin Bank is Awesome

Didn’t really do much today! My cold has become really weird – I wake up feeling completely normal, but then throughout the day the runny nose and bad cough comes back to visit. I really hope this cold gets better soon!

Went out to the bank after having some lunch at home, and I am so happy that they set us up with the bank they did, because it is open on Saturdays!!! And late nights till 19:00 on Thursdays! This is the best news ever, because in Japan a lot of banks close on weekends and super early on weekdays, meaning you have to take leave off work in order to go to the bank. But since my one ろうきん, is open on Saturdays, it just makes any banking business so much easier. So I went to the bank to hand in my school lunch payment form – this means that the school lunch payment will be automatically deducted directly from my bank account, instead of me having to make the payments monthly at the convenience store. I also found out that my bank does offer credit cards, so I got the application form for that too. Hopefully that will go well, because it’s apparently quite hard for foreigners to get a Japanese credit card.

On the way back home I came across a fruit and vege shop, and their prices were a bit cheaper than the supermarket’s! I bought some oranges and nectarines, and was very tempted by the ¥1260 watermelon, since watermelons are usually sold for a lot more in Japan – and it was a super big one too!
