Lovely Wednesday

Another full work day at school today! Woke up at 7:00am and had my leftover chocolate bread from yesterday for breakfast. Bought some lunch at the convenience store on the way to school. Today was lovely sunny weather, so no worries about cycling!

Today at school I mainly worked on finishing up my English Board, and making my lesson plans more detailed – ready for the meeting with the English teacher on Monday about our lessons! There were a lot more teachers at school today – the teacher’s office was buzzing with activity and noise. At various points throughout the day though the office became empty again as teachers went out to do work. I’ve read on other JET blogs that Japanese teachers are like ninjas because one moment they’re there, the next they’re gone! I find it very true – I only realise everyone is gone because of the sudden quietness! I had a really enjoyable day at school today though, mainly because at the end of the day (around 15:30) I was showing one teacher my family photos, and then other teachers came around and we started to have a great conversation! It was really great to finally start connecting with the teachers. I never know when I should approach them, even though I know I probably can and should, but they just look so busy! So I’m glad I was able to have a fun conversation with at least 5 of the teachers here today.

After school I quickly went to Daiso to pick up some stuff, and also to the convenience store to use my cash card for the first time! Our first pay day was on Monday, so now we actually have money in our bank accounts to use. I went back home to drop everything off, and then later in the evening around 19:00 went to the supermarket to stock up on some groceries and get the savings + double points (Wednesday!).
