ALT Seminar

We had a new ALTs seminar today at the city hall this morning. I was able to get a ride with another ALT because it was raining and I had left my umbrella at school! We arrived at the city hall early at around 8:50am, ready for the 9:00am start. They gave us all a ton of paper – printed out powerpoints, school books, the English curriculum for Takasaki, and other miscellaneous information about the working life in Japan. They tried to go through all the information but ran out of time, so most of it will continue on to the next seminar on the 25th. I had lunch with a few other ALTs at the city hall’s cafeteria, before getting another ride home. Most of the other ALTs didn’t have to go into school after the seminar, as their schools kindly let them take the afternoon off. I still chose to go to school just because I don't want to mistakenly use up any leave I didn't want to take! But I ended up not going because after I went home to drop off all the paper from the seminar, my lock wouldn't work and I couldn't lock the front door! So I had to call up the maintenance staff of the apartment complex, call my school to let them know, and then wait for the maintenance staff to come and fix it.

With the unexpected afternoon off I did a little bit of lesson/activity planning so that I still did some “work” at home, and then edited some photos and videos. Also was very productive with making my dumplings! My floor chair from Nitori also arrived tonight so that made me very happy! I’d always wanted one of these floor chairs, and they’re super cheap over here.
