Festival Sunday

I finally was able to sleep in! Woke up at 9:00am which was nice! Lounged around at home sorting things and doing some more organising and cleaning with the things I bought yesterday. After that I cycled back out to central to see more of the festival, since I only went to the fireworks at night yesterday.

Today felt even more hot than yesterday, and by the time I arrived in central I was truly drenched in sweat. I met up with a friend in BIC Camera where she was getting her SIM card, and enjoyed using their air con to cool down and recharge. We then headed together to the festival to get some food since we were both starving! According to my friend who had also come for the day festivities yesterday, the crowds were a lot better today (seems like everyone came yesterday!), so I’m glad I made the decision to split up my festival attendance like I did. We went to the food stalls straightaway and got some fried chicken, takoyaki, and these cool as drinks being served in a light bulb! I had seen SO many people carrying those around yesterday so I knew I had to get one today – it even comes with a little light bulb keychain that lights up! We found a spot to sit down and enjoy our food, before walking around the festival some more.

There was a small parade going on throughout the day, taiko performances, and just a lot of festival food. I had gotten quite full from the takoyaki so I didn't get much more food, except for some shaved ice (so good in this summer heat!) and dippin dots’ ice cream!!! So happy I found that again - it's my best childhood memory.

We called it a day at around 16:00 cause the heat was really getting to all of us. It was also good that we did decide to go home so early because the typhoon hit while I was cycling home – it wasn’t too bad though! Nice to cycle and cool down in the rain, except the massive rain drops hitting you in the face wasn’t that fun :P

But I got home in the end and took a shower straight away! Stayed at home to relax and avoid the bad weather outside, and because today is Sunday I was able to watch ITTEQ on TV! It's so nice to be able to finally watch all the Japanese variety shows and everything live. Tonight's episode was quite cute because they were in Canada and trying to speak English to get to famous places in Canada!
